Dr. Meltzer first became interested in Podiatry as a patient. He suffered from foot problems for years before seeing a podiatrist who was able to quickly diagnose and treat him. He grew up in New York where he attended the City University of New York receiving his BA with honors. Dr. Meltzer than attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and graduated at the top of his class, receiving his DPM degree Summa Cum Laude (with highest honors). He received residency training in foot surgery at Northlake Hospital in Chicago. He later had additional training in foot and ankle surgery at Kaiser Foundation Hospitals at Hayward and Oakland California.
Dr. Meltzer became the Chairman of the Department of Podiatric Medicine at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Jose for five years before leaving his position for private practice. He has articles published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Association, the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Clinics in Podiatric Medicine. His other previous positions include Director of Podiatric Training at Good Samaritan and Mission Oaks Hospital, Board of Directors Diabetes Society of Santa Clara Valley, Examiner State of California Board of Podiatric Medicine, Chairman Department of Podiatry Good Samaritan Hospital. He is certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot Surgeons. His special interests include Sports Medicine, Pediatrics, and Reconstructive Foot Surgery.
Dr. Meltzer lives in Los Gatos with his wife, Dr. Ada Koransky and his two daughters Rachel and Lauren. His favorite leisure activities include hiking, walking, cycling and playing electric guitars.
